Rum is a Danish word for space, room or reverb.

Since 2003 Jens B. Christiansen has been producing challenging yet melodic electronic music under the moniker Rumpistol, so far resulting in 5 albums, 5 EPs plus lots of remixes of acts like Efterklang (4AD), System (~scape), Prefuse 73 (US), Søren Juul (4AD) & Blue Foundation (DPC).

Rumpistol has performed his detailed signature sound and genre crossing music at festivals and venues all across Europe, North America, Mexico, Brazil & China including Boiler Room UK and MUTEK Montreal. His music was used at the opening ceremony of the Para-Olympics in Rio 2016. He has also created scores for theatre, contemporary dance & documentaries, and worked with acts such as MØ (DK), Ane Trolle (DK), Tobias Buch aka Red Baron (DK/US), F.S.Blumm (DE), Copenhagen Philharmonics (DK), John LaMonica (US), NHK Koyxen (JP) not to mention his 4-piece band Kalaha (DK).

He's been nominated for numerous awards including the Qwartz Electronic Music Award, Danish Music Award and GAFFA Prisen.

In 2014-2016 Rumpistol he toured extensively with an audio-visual setup called KUBE – a collaboration with the Danish audiovisual studio Obscura, featuring artists like Ceephax Acid Crew, Bjørn Svin and others. In 2016 he released the single "Eyes Open Wide featuring the acclaimed Danish singer Ane Trolle. The single was followed by a tour, where the two interpreted Rumpistol's back catalogue. Since 2003 Jens B. Christiansen has run the label Rump Recordings, showcasing mainly Danish electronic artists through a release span of more than 30 releases.

Rumpistol has gained wide acknowledgement from everyone from John Peel (UK) and Laurent Garnier (F) to Om Unit (UK), Tipper (UK) and The Wire (UK).
